John PenryIn these reflections I seek to
explore the Puritan martyr John Penry who is closely associated with
the village of Llangammarch where I used to live. He is well-known in
Welsh nationalist and Independent church circles but much less so
elsewhere. In these documents I seek to recover the youthful dynamism
of his life. I am also grateful for the beautiful 'icon' of John
Penry created by my friend Anna Bessant which I think uniquely captures
